The ISU offers a range of membership benefits, some of which are exclusive to the ISU. From death in service payments to free legal advice we cover the varied aspects that can effect your everyday working and home life. We are the only dedicated union for people working in Border Force, Enforcement, Customs, Immigration and UKVI.

SDA/AHW/AAA Benefit Payments

SDA/AHW/AAA Benefit Payments

If you loose your SDA/AHW/AAA allowance due to sickness, the ISU can reimburse you for £49 per week for up to a 12 month maximum period. You must be a fully paid member of the ISU for 6 months before you can claim for this benefit. T&C’s apply 

Personal Accident Cover

Personal Accident Cover

The ISU provides £70 per week to cover the loss of earnings as a result of absence from work through injury sustained by accident. Subject to a 12 month maximum period. You must be a fully paying member of the ISU for 6 months to claim this benefit. T&C’s apply. 

Death in Service Benefit

Death in Service Benefit

The benefit of £3000 is payable to a nominated person if the fully paid up member’s death occurs during his/her employment. This does not apply to ISU life members.

Initial legal advice on any topic at all is available to members free of charge through Simpson Millar LLP.

As well as nationally campaigning for better pay we also have a dedicated pay team who help members with issues with complex pay queries and questions concerning allowances. We cannot provide financial advice regarding pension options but we can support you in dealing with MyCSP and basic advice about the features of the various pension schemes.

As a member of the ISU, you and your family members are entitled to the full use of our free legal helpline as well as discounted rates on all of the services we provide, relating to both your business and personal life.

The ISU has negotiated a Full and Comprehensive Group Insurance Scheme to enhance the support you currently receive from your Union Membership.

No1 CopperPot Credit Union is a not for profit co-operative. We offer savings, loans and mortgages exclusive to the Police Family. The Police Family includes employees of the Border Force and the Home Office. We reward you annually by sharing our profits with you, in the form of an annual dividend.

On joining the ISU, you will receive a welcome pack in the post which will contain a welcome letter, membership card and ISU pocket diary. Towards the end of every year we send members who have confirmed they wish to continue to receive a pocket diary to their home address as a thank you for their continued membership to the ISU.

Please confirm with HQ if you wish to continue to receive the annual ISU diary for our records. 

If you do not wish to receive a pocket diary from the ISU please do let us know. If you need to change your address for the delivery of the annual diary please contact HQ by email or on 01255 553039. If you diary is lost or stolen, there is a £2.50 charge for a replacement to be sent to you. Postage overseas may be higher. 

The ISU offers lifetime membership for the one off fee of £50. This entitles you to all non-work related benefits of the ISU, including ISU membership circulars and updates, access to the members area on the ISU website for exclusive content, discounted services with our solicitors, the annual ISU diary and assistance with any Home Office pension queries.  For more information please contact HQ by email or on 01255 553039
